Cricklewood is popular with families, thanks to its excellent range of primary schools. If you’re thinking of moving to the area, here’s a guide to the best primaries, and their catchment areas.

Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Junior School

Information about the school:

Our Lady of Grace is a voluntary aided school, which accepts pupils aged from seven to 11. It’s located on Dollis Hill Lane, and is an incredibly popular school. This is partially due to it being recently awarded ‘outstanding’ in its Ofsted report. Priority is given to students who practice the Catholic faith, and application forms can be accessed via the school website. 

Catchment area: 

The school is situated close to Gladstone Park, and as such, many of the properties in the catchment area have great views of pleasant green space, not to mention easy access to the park itself. Some great period sub-divided apartments can be found on roads like Wotton Road for around £400,000 upwards, and for sizeable semi-detached and detached homes, look to locations like Gladstone Park Gardens and Dollis Hill Avenue. These tend to be priced at £700,000 upwards. 

Mora Primary School

Information about the school:

You’ll find Mora Primary School on Mora Road, not far from the train station. It’s a well-regarded school, which continues to be rated ‘good’ at Ofsted. Students typically perform at higher levels in reading, writing and maths than the national average.  As it’s a community school, all admissions are handled by Brent Council. 

Catchment area:

There are plenty of great roads to live on near Mora Primary School. Ivy Road has a wide range of properties, from 1920s semi-detached homes, to Victorian terraces and sub-divided apartments. Anticipate paying £425,000 for a two-bedroomed flat, and £800,000 for a semi-detached property. Cedar Road has some larger Victorian terraces for those looking for more space, and these usually cost around £950,000. 

Anson Primary School

Information about the school:

This is an award-winning primary school on Anson Road, which was rated ‘good’ in its 2019 Ofsted inspection. They have a nursery and accept children aged five to 11. All admissions are handled by the local council. 

Catchment area:

Anson Road itself has several different styles of property on offer; from period conversions priced at £400,000 to £500,000, to spacious semi-detached homes with large gardens, on the market for around £1.5million. The roads leading off from Anson Road are also worth considering; such as Dicey Avenue, Dawson Road and Blackstone Road. They have plenty of good-sized family homes – ideal for those with primary-aged children. 

Child’s Hill Primary School

Information about the school:

Child’s Hill Primary School prides itself on providing an inclusive environment, and is a national leader in terms of its approach to behaviour management. It’s currently rated ‘good’ at Ofsted, and parents can apply via Barnet Council. 

Catchment area:

There are some excellent apartments on Cricklewood Lane, which also offers appealing proximity to the station. These also offer great value for money, with some being as affordable as £250,000. At the other end of the scale, you’ll find some spacious detached homes on Farm Avenue. Anticipate paying £1.5million upwards for properties here.
