Five reasons why Cricklewood is a great place to live

FIVE REASONS WHY CRICKLEWOOD IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE

Cricklewood is one of north-west London’s most popular residential areas. It has an enormous amount to offer its residents; from a wealth of local amenities, to speedy commuting times to Central London.

If you’re looking for a home in this part of the capital, Cricklewood should be top on your list of places to consider. Here’s more information.

Five Reasons To Move To Cricklewood

It’s Ideal For Fans Of Period Property (And Modern Living Too)

Many homebuyers flock to Cricklewood to invest in one of the numerous period properties; from characterful Georgian and Victorian townhouses, to spacious 1920s and 1930s homes. Several of these have been sub-divided into apartments, which makes them especially appealing to first-time buyers and those on a budget. The cosy cottages in Cricklewood Railway Terraces conservation area are especially sought-after, thanks to the strong sense of community there – the owners even share an allotment.

Alternatively, if you’re a fan of contemporary architecture, you’ll appreciate the modern developments, such as those on The Broadway. These usually come with all the mod-cons, plus great views of the surrounding area.

It’s Being Regenerated

Cricklewood is already a great place to call home, and the current regeneration projects are likely to make it even more desirable in the future. The plans include enhancing the high street and improving public spaces. The funding also covers mentoring programmes and training workshops for local businesses, which will support the local economy.

Additionally, the regeneration plans have introduced two new annual events for locals to enjoy: The Silk Road Festival and WinterFest.

It’s Ideal For Commuters

Cricklewood has arguably got one of the best locations in north-west London. Its station is on Thameslink, with trains to St Pancras, Blackfriars and more; and there are also three other tube stations in the vicinity (Kilburn, Willesden Green and Dollis Hill). These take travellers to the West End and other locations in the capital.

The area is also perfectly positioned to access the A1 and M1, which provide access to many major cities across the UK.

It’s Got Great Schools

There are several high-performing schools in Cricklewood. Most of the local primary schools, such as Anson Primary School and St Mary Magdalen’s RC Junior School, were awarded ‘good’ at their most recent Ofsted inspection, and regularly get ‘above national average’ results from their students.

The same can be said of the secondary establishments; such as The Crest Academy for Boys, and The Crest Academy for Girls.

There’s Plenty To Keep You Entertained

One of the reasons people love Cricklewood so much is its friendly community atmosphere. There’s always something going on in the area for locals to enjoy, and there are several welcoming pubs, restaurants and independent cafes.

Children are also well catered for. Flip Out Brent Cross is the ideal spot for youngsters to bounce off some excess energy, and Clitterhouse Recreation Ground is a pleasant place to take the kids on a sunny afternoon. Of course, if you prefer a big day out, Central London is just a short train journey away.
